A second focus of TCI work in India can be seen in the work of Prof. Dr. C. Thomas Abraham, TCI pioneer in India and initiator of various grassroots and educational projects with different target groups.

In Europe, TCI has mainly established itself in professional contexts, above all as further training for professionals who work with groups, and among young adults who are looking for orientation for themselves and for cooperation in groups and teams. It seems that we have somewhat lost sight of the treasures that TCI offers to support people in shaping their living together in a way responsible towards themselves and others.

TCI-training for professionals is also well established in India thanks to the efforts of both Indian and European TCI graduates. On the other hand, a second focus of TCI work in India lies in its unique ability to create an inclusive “WE” for living together in everyday life. This can be seen in the work of Prof. Dr. C. Thomas Abraham, TCI pioneer in India and initiator of various grassroots and educational projects with different target groups and in the specific meaning of “beyond” in the Indian Culture.

In this workshop we will

  • explore the legacy of Ruth C. Cohn with regard to the sources (testimonies, literature, letters, etc.) that relate to practicing TCI in everyday life and
  • combine these insights with the experiences and inspirations of Dr. Thomas Abraham, which he will share with us.
  • We will ask what we can gain for TCI in everyday life in Europe and for what Ruth Cohn used to call „creative renewal“.
